Long videos and Shorts
- For the main video: make each shot in 16:9. One clip runs up to 30 seconds, on Seedance 2.5. Most YouTube shots are shorter, so make one clip per shot.
- Cut them on Root's timeline: up to 60 clips, 20 audio clips and 40 titles, and up to 10 minutes in all. It exports an MP4 file at up to 1080p, and exporting is free. Only the audio track is heard in the export, so add each shot's sound to it as well as the music.
- For 4K: Seedance 2.0, Kling 3.0, Kling 3.0 Omni and Veo 3.1 make 4K clips, one shot at a time. The timeline exports at up to 1080p, so a 4K upload from Root is a single clip, used as it comes out of the model.

How to make a YouTube video with AI in Root
- List the shots. Write the video as a list of shots, each a few seconds long. Mark the ones that need sound, a person who must look the same, or 4K.
- Make each shot in 16:9. Add a Video Gen node per shot, choose the model from the table, set the shape to 16:9 and the size to 1080p. Keep a character the same with reference images on a model that takes them.
- Cut, add music, export. Add each take to the timeline with its Video button and trim it. To keep a shot's own sound, add it with the take's Audio button too, then trim that sound to match the picture and drag it under its shot: the Audio button adds the whole take, after the last sound on the audio track. Add the music track the same way and drag it to the start, under the shots. The export plays only the audio track. Add titles, then export the MP4 and upload it to YouTube.
