How to make a music video in Root
- Make the song. Describe it in Voice/Music, add your lyrics with [Verse] and [Chorus] marked, and press Compose: $0.16 a track, up to 3 minutes. Or drag in a song you already have.
- Plan the shots. Write a shot for every 5 seconds or so of the song, and mark which ones are the singer performing. Make a still of the singer and each place first, so every shot can start from one.
- Make the shots with sound off. The song is the sound, so turn the model's sound off. On Kling 3.0 Omni that also costs less: $0.49 for 5 seconds instead of $0.65. Wire each still into the Video Gen node's init input so the singer looks the same in every shot.
- Lip sync the singer. Wire a performance shot into a Lipsync node, and the part of the song it covers into its audio input. It redraws the mouth to match. Sync 3 costs $0.77 for 5 seconds of shot. - Cut it to the music. Drop the shots on the timeline in order, put the song on the audio track, trim each shot to the music and export. A timeline holds up to 60 clips and 10 minutes, and exporting it is free.

Tips for the performance shots
- Ask for the singer singing, facing the camera, with the face clear and a good size in the frame. Lip sync works best on a face it can see well.
- Give the lip sync only the lines the shot covers, so the mouth matches the words heard under that shot.
- Keep the story shots for the instrumental parts and the performance shots for the lines you want people to see sung.
