Can Claude generate images?
No, not by itself. Connect Root and it can. You ask for an image in the chat, Claude starts it on Root with GPT Image, Nano Banana, Seedream, FLUX or another model, and the image is saved to your project.

Connect Root to Claude
You need a Root account first. Then add Root in Claude with this address: https://root.film/api/mcp
- Step 1. Open Claude, in the browser or the desktop app.
- Step 2. Click your name in the bottom left, then Customize. On some accounts this is called Settings.
- Step 3. Open Connectors.
- Step 4. Press the plus button, then Add custom connector.
- Step 5. Type Root as the name, and paste the Root address into the URL box.
- Step 6. Press Add, then Connect.
- Step 7. A Root sign-in page opens. Sign in, then press Allow.
- Step 8. Start a new chat. Press the plus button under the message box, open Connectors, and make sure Root is switched on.

If Claude says it can't make the image
If Claude cannot list your projects or make an image, open Connectors, then Root, and make sure no tool has the crossed-out circle selected.
Check that Root is switched on in the chat, too: press the plus button under the message box and open Connectors.

Yes. Add the image to the chat or give Claude a link, and ask for the change. Claude uploads it to your project and runs an edit model on it, such as Nano Banana Pro, Nano Banana or GPT Image 2. For a photo over 3 MB, give Claude a link.
Where do the images go?
Into your Root project, the same as an image made in the Root app. Claude can open small images to look at them, and gives you a download link for any file.
Can Claude make videos too?
Yes. The same connection lets Claude start video clips with Seedance, Kling, Veo and other video models.
Does this work in ChatGPT as well?
Yes. Root connects to ChatGPT the same way, with the same models and prices.
Can I try making images from Claude for free?
