How to animate a logo in Root
- Prepare the logo. Use a clean image of the logo on a plain background, in the shape you want the clip: wide, vertical or square. Drag it onto your project's graph.
- To start on the logo. Wire it into a Video Gen node's init input and describe the movement: “the letters lift off one by one and drift away”, “light sweeps across the logo, slow push in”.
- To end on the logo. Make the opening frame first: a plain background in your brand colour, or a scene. Wire it into init and the logo into the last input, which sets the end frame, then describe how one turns into the other. The table above shows which models take an end frame.
- Make a few takes. Run it three or four times and keep the best. Every take stays on the node, and the price shows before each run.
Tips for a clean logo animation
- Keep it short. A logo sting is usually a few seconds; a long clip gives the model more time to change the logo.
- Lettering can change in the frames in between. Ending on the logo steers the last frame back to it, so a reveal is the safer choice for a wordmark.
