Make a video ad with AI, in every shape you need
Root's first month is free: the Beginner plan's first month comes with 650 credits, enough for three takes of a whole 15-second spot. One take of a 15-second spot, with several shots and sound, is $1.94 at 720p on Kling 3.0 Omni. Each ad placement wants its own shape, wide, vertical or square, so you make the spot once per shape.

One spot, a version for each placement
- Wide 16:9 for video players and websites, vertical 9:16 for full-screen phone placements, square 1:1 for feeds.
- Make each shape as its own take rather than cropping one: a crop cuts off the edges of the frame, and with them the product or the words.
- Kling 3.0 Omni makes 16:9, 9:16 and 1:1, so one model and one prompt cover each version.
- Make the opening frame in the shape of the version it opens, so the take starts in the right shape.
- Download each take when you are happy with it. Every version stays in the project, next to the others.
One 15-second spot in two shapes, priced
A wide version and a square one. Each has its own opening frame, then two takes of the whole spot to choose from. A vertical 9:16 take costs the same, $1.94, since Kling 3.0 Omni prices every shape alike. 100 credits is $1.
| Step | Model | How many | Each | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Opening frame, 16:9 | Nano Banana Pro | 1 | $0.16 | $0.16 |
| The spot, 15 s, 16:9, 720p, with sound | Kling 3.0 Omni | 2 | $1.94 | $3.88 |
| Opening frame, 1:1 | Nano Banana Pro | 1 | $0.16 | $0.16 |
| The spot, 15 s, 1:1, 720p, with sound | Kling 3.0 Omni | 2 | $1.94 | $3.88 |
| Both versions | $8.08 |
How to make the spot in Root
- Write the spot as a list of shots. One line per shot, in order, with what we see and hear: “1. Close on the can, cold drops running. 2. A hand cracks it open. 3. The logo on a plain red background.”
- Make an opening frame in each shape. Add an Image Gen node and make the first frame once for each version, such as 16:9 and 1:1. Put your product or logo in it.
- Set up the Video Gen node. Choose Kling Omni (Kling 3.0 Omni), set Shots to Multi-shot, turn sound on and pick the shape. Wire in the opening frame and paste the list of shots as the prompt.
- Run each shape and keep the best take. The price shows before each run. Make a couple of takes per shape, compare them side by side and download the ones you will use.

AI ad questions
Is there a free AI ad video generator?
Root is not free: you pay per take from a credit balance, and the price shows before each run. But the first month of Root's Beginner plan is free and comes with 650 credits, enough for three takes of a 15-second spot with sound. One 15-second take of a spot with sound is $1.94 on Kling 3.0 Omni. Failed runs are not charged.
What does a 15-second AI video ad cost?
On Root, one 15-second take with sound at 720p is $1.94 with Kling 3.0 Omni, in any of its shapes. The plan above, an opening frame and two takes in each of two shapes, comes to $8.08.
Which shapes can an AI video ad be?
Wide 16:9, vertical 9:16 and square 1:1 are the three most placements use. Kling 3.0 Omni, the model in the plan above, makes all three. The YouTube video guide lists the shapes the other models make.
Can an AI ad have several shots?
Yes, in one take. In the Video Gen node, choose Kling Omni (Kling 3.0 Omni) and set Shots to Multi-shot: the take cuts between several shots, up to 15 seconds in all. Describe the shots in order in the prompt. For one longer continuous take, Seedance 2.5 makes up to 30 seconds in one run. Or make each shot as its own clip and cut them together on Root's timeline. It exports a 16:9 spot at up to 1080p, with up to 60 clips, for free; for a square or vertical spot, use one Multi-shot take per shape. The export plays only the timeline's audio track: add each clip's sound with the clip's Audio button, in the same order as the clips, then trim each sound to match its clip and drag it under it.
Can I put my own product in an AI ad?
Yes. Give the model photos of the product as reference images, or a packshot as the opening frame. The product video guide lists the models that take product photos, how many each takes and what a clip costs.
Can an AI ad have sound?
Yes. Kling 3.0 Omni, the model in the plan above, makes the sound in the same take when sound is on. Say what we should hear in the prompt: the music and the noise of the place. For a line spoken, use a model that makes speech; the AI video with sound guide says which models make sound and which of them speak.
