The cheapest image on each Seedream
The lowest price of one image with each model on Root, in dollars, and the sizes it applies to. The Seedream page gives each model's price at 1K, 2K and 4K, where it makes that size. 100 credits is $1.
| Seedream model | At these sizes | Cheapest image | Free-month images |
|---|---|---|---|
| Seedream 4.0 | 1K, 2K, 4K | $0.04 | 162 |
| Seedream 4.5 | 2K, 4K | $0.05 | 130 |
| Seedream 5.0 Lite | 2K, 3K, 4K | $0.05 | 130 |
| Seedream 5.0 Pro | 1K, 1.5K | $0.06 | 108 |
The counts assume all 650 credits go on one model. After the free month the plan is $9 a month, and you can cancel whenever you like.
Where the Seedream price changes, and where it doesn't
- Seedream 4.0, Seedream 4.5 and Seedream 5.0 Lite cost the same at every size they make, so choose the size you need, not the smallest.
- Seedream 5.0 Pro is $0.06 at 1K or 1.5K and $0.11 at 2K.
- Reference images are free to add on Seedream 4.0, Seedream 4.5 and Seedream 5.0 Lite.
- On Seedream 5.0 Pro, each reference image after the first adds a little to the price.
Draft on Seedream 4.0, finish on Seedream 5.0 Pro
- Draft on Seedream 4.0. Add an Image Gen node, choose Seedream 4.0 and wire in the pictures it has to keep: a face, a product, a place. Each take is $0.04, whatever the size.
- Pick the take, then the finish. Keep the take that works. If the final has to be 3K or 4K, run it on Seedream 5.0 Lite, $0.05 at either size; for the newest Seedream at up to 2K, go on to the next step.
- Make the final on Seedream 5.0 Pro. Switch the same node to Seedream 5.0 Pro, the newest Seedream, for final images, and run it again with up to 10 of the pictures: $0.06 at 1K or 1.5K and $0.11 at 2K, plus a little for each picture after the first.
