How to start
- Start the free month. Create a Root account and start the Beginner plan. The first month is free.
- Open a project. Every image you make is saved in a project, with every take kept.
- Pick Nano Banana. Add an Image Gen node, choose Nano Banana or Nano Banana Pro, and write what you want, or wire in a photo to edit.
- Check the price and run. The price shows before you run it, and the image lands in your project.

- Images with the other image models on Root, such as GPT Image, Seedream and FLUX.2.
- Video clips, music tracks and voice-overs, from the same balance.

Nano Banana is for quick drafts and edits at a low price. Nano Banana Pro is for finished images, and edits where the details have to hold. It makes 1K or 2K images.
Does a 2K Nano Banana Pro image cost more?
No. On Root a Nano Banana Pro image is $0.16 at 1K and 2K alike, so the larger size costs nothing extra.
Is there a cheaper image model than Nano Banana on Root?
Yes. Krea 2 Turbo is $0.02 an image, for fast drafts at the lowest price. Every model draws on the same credits, so you can draft on one and finish on Nano Banana Pro.
Do failed images cost credits?
No. Failed runs are not charged. You pay only for images that are made.
