Change the camera angle · Re-angle
Change the camera angle of a still with AI
Root's Re-angle node turns one still into a 3D scene you can move a camera through. Fly to the angle you want, then capture a new still or record a camera move. Building the scene is $2.00, and every still and camera move you take from it after that costs nothing more. It runs in the Root app, in your browser.

What Re-angle does
- Builds a 3D scene, called a splat, from one picture: a still you made in Root, a frame from a clip, or a photo you upload.
- Or takes a splat you already have, as a .ply or .spz file.
- Lets you move a camera through the scene: drag to orbit, scroll to move in and out, and fly with the W, A, S and D keys.
- Saves what the camera sees as an ordinary picture or clip, which any other node in the project can use.
What you can capture, and what it costs
One build, then as many captures as you like. 100 credits is $1.
| What | How | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Build the scene | Press Build splat with a still wired into the node. It takes a few minutes. | $2.00 |
| A new still | Fly to the angle and press Capture angle. | Included |
| A planned camera move | Press Set keyframe at 2 to 256 camera positions, then Render move. Root moves smoothly between them over 3, 5, 8 or 10 seconds at 24 or 30 frames a second. | Included |
| A move you fly by hand | Press Record move and fly the camera, for up to 20 seconds. | Included |
Captures are made in your browser from the scene you built, so they use no credits.
How to change the camera angle in Root
- Add a Re-angle node. In a project's node graph, add a Re-angle node and wire a still into its init input, or import a splat you already have.
- Build the scene. Press Build splat. The price, $2.00, shows before you press it. The scene is ready in a few minutes.
- Find the angle. Open the node and fly the camera to where you want it: lower, higher, closer or further away.
- Capture it. Press Capture angle for a still. For a moving shot, press Set keyframe at each camera position and then Render move, or press Record move and fly it yourself.
- Use the new shot. Drag the capture into a Reference node. From there it works like any picture or clip: start a Video Gen shot from it, change it with Image Gen, or wire a camera move into an Edit Video node and change its look with Aleph 2.0.

Camera angle questions
Can AI change the camera angle of a picture?
Yes. In Root, the Re-angle node builds a 3D scene from one picture, and you fly a camera through it to capture the shot from a new angle. The build is $2.00; every still and camera move you capture afterwards costs nothing more.
How much does Re-angle cost?
$2.00 to build the scene from your picture. Every still and camera move you capture from it afterwards is free, because it is made in your browser.
Can I make a camera move from a still?
Yes. Press Set keyframe at each camera position, then Render move, and Root moves between them over 3, 5, 8 or 10 seconds, or press Record move and fly it yourself for up to 20 seconds. The move is saved as a clip, which you can give a new look with Aleph 2.0 in an Edit Video node.
What picture can I use for Re-angle?
Any still: one made in Root, a frame from a clip, or a photo you upload, up to 32 MB. You can also import a splat you already have, as a .ply or .spz file.
How long does it take to build the scene?
A few minutes. After that, moving the camera and capturing happen in your browser and cost nothing more.
Where does Re-angle run?
In the Root app. You build the scene in a project and choose the angle in the node's viewer in your browser, with nothing to install.
