What SwitchX does
- Changes the light in a clip you already have, to match a reference picture: a sunset, a neon street, a grey office.
- Keeps the people, the movement and the camera from your clip.
- Takes an optional prompt to say more about the look you want.
- Delivers at 720p or 1080p, in your clip's shape, or cropped to portrait or landscape.
- Keeps the clip's sound.
SwitchX relighting prices
What one relight costs in the Root app, in dollars, by the length of the clip. 100 credits is $1.
| Size | 5 s clip | 8 s clip |
|---|---|---|
| 720p | $0.58 | $0.92 |
| 1080p | $1.73 | $2.76 |
The price shown before the run is what you pay.
Limits to know
- One run relights up to 240 frames, which is 8 seconds at 30 frames a second. A longer clip is cut to its first 240 frames, and a run is charged for 8 seconds at most.
- A clip with a very large frame, such as 4K, is scaled down to fit before it is relit.
- You need a lighting reference picture for every run. It can be a photo, a still from another shot, or an image you make in Root.
How to relight a video in Root
- Open the clip. Open a project and pick the clip, or add an Edit Video node and wire in a clip, including one you upload.
- Choose Relight. In the clip's edit menu it is Relight / restyle (Beeble SwitchX); in the Edit Video node's list it is SwitchX Relight (video).
- Add the light. Pick the reference picture of the light you want. Add a prompt if you want to say more.
- Pick the size and run. Choose 720p or 1080p. The price shows before you run it, and the relit clip lands in your project.
