Settings

Settings shows who you are signed in as and links to your keys and your team. Nothing about your account is edited here.

• Signed in as — your name and email, with your Role and your Org.
• API keys — keys for calling Root from your own code, or for connecting Claude or ChatGPT. See the API article.
• Provider API keys (BYOK) — on Enterprise workspaces only: add your own provider keys so those runs go on your account instead of ours.
• Members — an admin can pause a member's generating without removing them. See the Members article.
• If your workspace uses Digital Dark, its admins also see Digital Dark spending, where they choose how far a run may go over its estimate.
• AI support — admins choose whether the support chat may use screenshots of the page. See the Ask AI support article.
• Post-production plugins — the plugins for your editing apps, which are coming soon.

Provider API keys (BYOK) opens Your own API keys. Own provider keys are an Enterprise feature that we switch on for a workspace. Bringing your own key means the provider bills you directly for those runs.

Where it applies, you may still be charged for our own compute on top. If you have not added a key, everything runs on ours and is charged in credits. Only an admin can save, replace or remove a key.

1. Open Settings from the bottom of the left rail.
2. Check who you are signed in as at the top.
3. On Enterprise workspaces, open Provider API keys (BYOK) and add a provider key.

Team management and billing preferences are not built yet. The page says so, and this will be updated when they arrive.

Your keys are stored encrypted and are never shown back to you in full after you save them.
