Prompt templates

A prompt template is a set of standing instructions for the prompt helper — the sparkle button next to every prompt box. It does not paste text into your prompt. It changes how the helper writes when you ask it to draft, improve or vary one.

The prompt helper itself uses credits, around one per draft, improve or vary. The button tells you what your last one cost.

That makes it the place for the rules you would otherwise repeat: always shoot on long lenses, never mention brand names, keep it to one sentence.

1. Open Prompt templates and press New template.
2. Give it a name you will recognise later.
3. Write the instructions as directions, not as a prompt, and press Create template.
4. Pick it from the sparkle button on any prompt field.

Your templates lists the ones you made, each with Edit and Delete. Built-in presets lists the ones that come with Root. They are always in the sparkle picker and can't be changed.

Write "keep descriptions short and concrete", not "a wide shot of a desert". The first is a rule the helper follows; the second is just a prompt.
