Plugins

The plugins will connect your editing software to your Root account so the record of how a shot was made follows it into your edit. They will not move files for you — they keep the authorship trail running once the footage is out of Root and in your timeline.

There is nothing to install yet. Developer preview builds exist for Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Foundry Nuke and DaVinci Resolve. They were too rough to hand out, so we pulled them. The Post-production plugins page shows Coming soon, and will fill in with downloads and setup steps once they are solid.

When the downloads come back, the same page holds your plugin tokens. New token makes one for a plugin to sign in with, and Revoke stops one working.

Nothing about your provenance record is lost in the meantime. Everything you do inside Root is still recorded in full. The authorship dossier you export already covers it. The plugins extend that trail into your editing app; they are not what creates it.
