How long a run takes
What a run's status means while it works, how long it can take, and what happens if it never finishes.
There is no time estimate for a run. How long it takes depends on the model, the length of the clip and how busy that model is. A video usually takes one to several minutes. Re-Cast and Re-Dress take 5 to 15 minutes.
- Queued · #3 means the run is waiting its turn, third in line.
- GPUs busy · #3 means it is waiting for one of Root's own GPUs to come free.
- On the LTX-2.3 models, the node shows how far the render has got as a percentage. Other models show running until they finish.
- When a model's company is busy, Root keeps trying for you. Your credits stay held, and come back if it never finishes.
- If a run seems stuck, look at its status on the node in the Graph.
- If it says Queued or GPUs busy, it is waiting its turn and starts by itself.
- To stop it, press Cancel this run when the node shows it. Some models can't be stopped once they have started.
- Otherwise leave it. A run that goes past its time limit is stopped, and its held credits come back.
Each model has its own time limit. It is about a quarter of an hour for the quickest and a little over 2 hours for the slowest. A Seedance run still waiting for room at Seedance is stopped after 30 minutes. Try it again a few minutes later.
A run that fails, or goes past its time limit, costs nothing, with one exception. If Runway's content filter rejects your prompt or picture, Runway charges for that run, as Billing explains. If you cancel a run on Root's own GPUs, you pay for the GPU time it used. Cancelling any other run gives back all of it.
